Since the Nurses & Midiwives e-Chort Study commenced, over 10,000 nurses & midwives from Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom have joined us. So far the study has led to 4 journal publications in areas related to the e-cohort.
The e-cohort is being well received in academic and public forums. In a recent visit to our New Zealand colleagues at Massey University, we collaborated with others trying to establish similar studies.
Additionally, the School of Medicine, University of Queensland is developing a Doctors' e-cohort based on the methods used in the Nurses & Midwives e-cohort. The Doctors' e-Cohort study went live this year!
Intensive analysis of data has been taking place for some months now with a number of exciting projects underway. As the project is becoming more well known, we are beginning to attract external researchers who would like to collaborate with us. There are also opportunities for potential PhD students. Anyone interested in conducting research with the project should contact Ms. Anne Russell (Research Manager/ Biostatistician) in the first instance.
If you haven't completed the baseline survey, unfortunatley you will not be able to continue with the study. For those who remain in the study, the second and much shorter survey went live in August 2008 - please log on and complete it if you haven't alreaady done so. Completion of the second survey allows us to make comparisons with the first batch of data and is the next important step in this longitudinal study.
Remember, this is a project led by nurses & midwives for the benefit of nurses & midwives and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our participants who have helped make the project happen!
